A Different Kind Of Ride

Years ago I was on a drill team with Scottsdale Saddle Club. I enjoyed it tremendously and the weekly practice of the intricate moves really helped me, as well as Lindsey and Hilary, become better riders. From time to time the subject has come up on recent trail rides, so today a few of us got together and played drill team.

At first we had trouble lining up, even just 2-across.
Still a little rough.
Two pairs, perfect!
Then we split our pairs in half, came from opposite ends and crossed the arena, making an X.
After we mastered the 2-across, we worked on 3-across...
And then 6-across...
A perfect line, 6-across!
Single file, which, believe it or not, is almost as hard as 6-across!
We had a blast and plan to do it again soon, hopefully with more notice more riders will be able to make it.

That looks like tons of fun! Not to mention hard!
