Where's My Ark???

We live in a pretty large, fairly flat valley, and from our house you can see mountains in pretty much every direction - closest to the south, not too far to the north, a bit farther to the west and off in the distance to the east...

Except for today! Tonight on the way home, all I saw was gray... not a single mountain in sight! It's been raining since before I got home, hard and steady, boy was it fun to feed in this {not}. We even lost our electricity at one point this evening! I'm not REALLY complaining, we NEED the rain... just truthful comments and descriptions {wink}. I do worry about my critters when it's like this, even though they have covers, with this much falling from the sky, we end up with sheets of water over the land and that means no dry spots, not even under the covers... and even under our porches, so the dogs are ALL in the laundry room (and it's barely big enough).

Just thought I would share what happened when Luna decided to leap out of that trailer Sunday and I was in the way...

It's not nearly as swollen as it was on Sunday, but the bruise is really starting to show... the first shot is from this morning...

and again, from tonight. About 10 hours later and quite a bit darker already!

The scrape, luckily, is not bothering me much. Losing skin is generally a fairly serious problem for me, residuals from some medication I was on years ago. So I expect, even though it's only a bit of skin missing, that I will end up with a scar... but only time will tell. I thought due to the initial swelling there might be a bone crack or chip but there isn't enough pain for that {whew} and no stitches so of course Mikey still has me beat!!!

As for Miss Luna, Savannah is working her hard, be sure to stop by the blog entitled Miss Savannah's School of Manners and see the lessons Luna is learning. I think she's a pretty good student... and of course Savannah is a great teacher!
