Just When You Think...

...that you have seen it all

This horse actually belongs to a friend of a friend. Yup he got a yard chair stuck on his head...

Knowing that they got it off ok and he wasn't hurt makes this hilarious. Amazing what our equines can get themselves into huh?

Our Gift

Wow what a great lesson we had tonight at our bible study... all about the focus of Christmas and how most of it misses the point. Which is, that God gave US a gift... salvation through his Son. We don't have to earn it, it's a gift. All we have to do is accept it. Hard for us to believe though... somehow we can't accept that it doesn't have to be earned, it's a gift! After every lesson, Gary asks for comments and questions. Most of the time we are silent because he has our heads spinning... he is continuously amazing us.

Between work and bible study I had a quick visit with Mary. She is such an inspiration, always cheerful... she is doing much better, hopes to come home soon. This interim rehab facility is really working her hard so that she CAN come home. But she still has a long haul so continued prayers would be much appreciated.

A Picnic Visit

Today we had a mini visit at a holiday picnic for several of the retirement homes in our area, at a local park. There were quite a few kids there as well so they got a bonus this day...

The Activities Director who called us to come out also brought one of her draft horses for comparison...

Madeline meets her first electric scooter... she was a big hit with everyone!

Betty Jean thinks that baby is trying to tell her something.

But this, my friends... THIS is what it's all about :)

No Rest For The Weary

I know, stop whining! Sorry but I am a bit tired. Lots going on and no end in sight and my head is spinning. I really need to be three people AT LEAST! I am behind on my blogs (the ones I read) so my blogger friends probably think I am a jerk since I haven't commented. Until tonight I was behind on my own blog! I mailed my donkey forum gift exchange out eight days late. I am STILL not finished with my dog pen... although the grass is growing like crazy :) Tomorrow is another mini visit, hope I remember the camera. And I am supposed to be getting things ready for the light parade Friday night but I am blogging instead... I didn't even get started on my Christmas lights yet. I may not even put them up this year and that has NEVER happened before! You don't even want to KNOW what my house looks like.

Well... I'm not bored ;)

A Doggie Visit

Randy and I, along with our friend Rose, took Mary's three dogs to visit her today. And of course I forgot the camera... but Mary was thrilled to see the dogs, and the dogs were thrilled to see her. The hardest part was going home because she cried when we had to leave... we really hope to have her home by next weekend!

73 Bales

That is how much hay I brought home today. Thank goodness I don't have to load it since I have to unload it. Many thanks to boarder Chuck who helped me with the 30 bales of mix... he had to take off but after a rest I did 16 bales of oat hay by myself. Thank goodness it's lighter than the mix... only 27 left for tomorrow. OH BOY!

A Special Mini Visit

Last night Mary was transferred from the hospital to a rehab center for a few days of intense rehab. When I found that out I called and arranged to bring the minis in between the other two visits I already had scheduled with senior care homes today. I asked them NOT to tell her we were coming and they didn't, so she was really surprised - when she realized it was us and horses she lit up like a Christmas tree!

In discussing this visit we found out we are allowed to bring her dogs to visit her so that is the plan for Sunday!
